Media Kit

Award-winning Santa Barbara Seasons is the premier cultural arts magazine of Santa Barbara County, heralded by Santa Barbara News-Press as the region’s “cultural ambassador.” The magazine has earned numerous honors, including the prestigious Maggie Award and the Award of Excellence for consumer quarterly by the Western Publishing Association.

Every quarterly edition of Seasons is mailed, by name, to more than 12,000 households within greater Santa Barbara’s, the Santa Ynez Valley’s and San Luis Obispo County’s finest residential communities. In addition, a minimum of 10,000 copies are prominently displayed within the Central Coast’s best hotels and inns, offering access to more than 350,000 visitors each issue. Seasons is also available on newsstands regionally and by subscription.

For 2018, the content and circulation of Santa Barbara Seasons is expanded to include northerly adjacent San Luis Obispo County—its history, lifestyle, wine country, visitor destinations, recreation opportunities and restaurants, with a separate cover title for copies distributed north of Santa Barbara County—Coastal Seasons.

In Every Issue

Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties’ lifestyles and culture are featured in big and small ways, with Local Lowdown’s interesting businesses, trends, style, shopping and happenings; Datebook’s events, celebrations and cultural things to do; and Food & Wine’s focus on the Central Coast’s burgeoning wine country and food scenes. Larger features aptly present, with compelling design, writing and photography, special subjects and people, spectacular homes, and each counties’ natural seaside and mountainous beauty. For visitors and locals alike, Explore describes 60 essential destinations and the best golf courses in both counties, and Dining Out names and describes the best restaurants.

A Little History…

Santa Barbara Seasons was developed from what was originally a 24-page, digest-sized weekly entitled “This Week in Santa Barbara,” published since 1955 by local Jim Giusto. In 1996, Dave Fritzen purchased it, eventually upgrading its production values, changing its frequency to quarterly and expanding the content to appeal to an upscale market of locals and visitors.
