Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara celebrates the holidays with activities for all ages, decadent holiday dining, seasonal spa treatments and local traditions. Kicked off each year by the Resort’s annual tree lighting ceremony on November 24, guests are welcome to partake in a number of events envisioned by the Resort team throughout the holiday season.

This year marks the Resort’s 91st year and in celebration of this milestone, the team has curated a list of spectacular holiday activities.

Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony

On November 24, from 5:30 – 8 p.m., the annual tradition of lighting a beautifully decorated, 15-foot Christmas tree continues. Guests gather together as the tree is lit for the first time this season, while savoring hot chocolate and holiday cookies.

Cookie Decorating Class with Mrs. Claus

Back by popular demand, kids can join Mrs. Claus and the Resort’s pastry chefs for a holiday cookie decorating workshop. Enjoy a fun and creative afternoon of decorating freshly baked sugar cookies with a variety of festive toppings. December 22 and 29, 2 p.m.

Holiday S’mores

Spend the evening bundled up fireside while the Resort’s s’mores experts help guests create the perfect roasted marshmallow. Go traditional or create a holiday s’more with specialty toppings that will have everyone coming back for more. December 21 and 28,  7 p.m.

Story Time with Santa

On Christmas Eve, the whole family is invited to gather in front of the Christmas tree for milk and cookies while Santa himself entertains with storytelling. December 24,  4 p.m.

Hanukkah Lighting

To celebrate the eight nights of the holiday, a traditional lighting of the menorah commences on December 12 at sundown. The lighting will take place in the lobby, and will continue every night at sundown through December 20.

Teddy Bear Tea

Don’t miss this longstanding tradition and annual event benefitting local children’s charities. Four Seasons Teddy Bear Tea is designed for adults and children and will certainly become a cherished memory for years to come. While mom or dad is nibbling on tea sandwiches and pastries, the kids are delighting in playtime and holiday treats. Santa’s elves entertain with activities such as cookie making, sing-alongs and story time, while Santa himself makes an appearance. Keepsake photographs will be taken. Note that space is limited and early reservations are recommended.  Reservations are available through Guest Services at 805/565-8290. December 16, 3 p.m.

El Galeon Speakeasy

This December, a rarely seen hidden space comes alive as a modern day 1920s speakeasy. The nautical-themed room El Galeon that was originally used during Prohibition as a drinking and poker lounge will be outfitted for the evening with white glove service, champagne, poker and cocktails from the era that pair perfectly with Chef Marco Fossati’s modern twist on 1920s hors d’oeuvres. Guests are encouraged to follow the 1920s dress code. Due to the nature of the event location, there are limited tickets available. December 7 and 14, 7 p.m.

Christmas Eve

Guests can make merry with a four-course family style dinner showcasing the season’s finest local ingredients created by Chef Marco Fossati and his culinary team. December 24, 5 p.m.

Christmas Day

Gather together and enjoy an abundant buffet-style meal featuring tradition holiday favorites along with an extensive selection of traditional dishes, gourmet creations, seafood, salads, and carving stations. December 25, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.

New Years Eve

The roaring 20s come to Santa Barbara to ring in 2019. Join other guests in their best 1920s attire for a dinner buffet including a champagne filled ice sculpture and creative made-to-order menu items. December 31, 7:30 – 10 p.m.

Holiday Tea

Partake in a special holiday rendition of the renowned Four Seasons afternoon tea. Relax in the cosy fireside ambience of Bella Vista and savor an elegant tea service including finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones, pastries, tea cakes and homemade accoutrements along with a freshly brewed pot of one of dozens of fine teas. A glass of bubbly makes the experience even more festive. Note 24-hour advance reservations are required. Reservations are available at 805/565-8311. December 7, 8, 14, 15, 21 and 22, 2 – 4 p.m.
