“Feast of Apicius” Fundraiser & Top-Chef Competition

Posted on Oct 17 by SEASONS Magazine

On October 20, Inside Wine Santa Barbara invites you to join the “Feast of Apicius” in the Fleischmann Auditorium at the Santa Barbara Natural History Museum.

This extravagant event which pairs wine and food is the first of its kind in Santa Barbara as it honors the 1st century AD epicure Marcus Gavius Apicius. Apicius was known for his pursuit of the finest cuisine and most lavish presentations, his passion for food inspired the world’s first cookbook “De Re Coquinaria.”

The event will allow attendees to try chef-prepared appetizers, meet the chefs, and also meet winemakers and proprietors who will be pouring some of the best wines of the region. This event will also feature a top-chef competition where a panel of guest judges will award “Tastiest” and “Most Creative” to the recipes adapted from the ancient Roman text.
