Come marvel at a stunning display of artistry at this year’s 3rd Annual Funk Zone Artist Showcase. Beginning September 14 for the reception, the showcase features more than 20 artists from studios or galleries in the Santa Barbara Funk Zone.
The exhibit takes place at MichaelKate Interiors & Art Gallery, a large contemporary furniture store that holds art shows every two months. The artists and galleries featured in the showcase are mostly located along Santa Barbara Street between Yanonali and Mason Streets. Artists in the exhibition include Studio One Eleven’s Barbara Larson, Gallerie Silo’s Michael C. Armour, GraySpace’s Charlene Brody, and Gone Gallery’s Skye Gwilliam. These artists’ works can also be seen at the Funk Zone’s Art Walks that occur bi-monthly.
The exhibition will remain on view until November 11, however, you won’t want to miss the reception on opening night—5p.m. until 8p.m.—and at 6 p.m., the artists will discuss their work led by host Ted Mills. Get a true feel for the culture that comprises the Funk Zone art scene at this can’t miss event.
