Boost your culinary expertise and indulge in a wine-paired four-course dinner by signing up for one of The Bear and Star’s upcoming BBQ summer cooking classes.
Head chef, John Cox, and the Culinary Team are offering a series of personal cooking classes beginning Sunday, August 12, from 4-8 p.m.
Starring local ingredients from Parker Ranch and flavors from Santa Barbara country, the first class will be featuring local fish and shellfish cuisine. Menu items include Heirloom Tomato Salad with Grilled Prawns, Local Sea Urchin with Meyer Lemon and Garlic Butter, as well as various other seafood options.
Up to ten guests will learn the techniques and secrets of Cox’s cooking, and also enjoy the wine coupled dinner in the Bear and Star’s Chef’s Room following the class.
Pricing is $90 or $160 per couple for the dinner menu, while the optional wine menu organized by The Bear and Star’s General Manager Allison Crawford is an additional charge of $50.
Upcoming dates for the series include BBQ Classics on Sunday, September 9, with Chefs Jeremy Tummel and John Cox, and Preservation by Smoking and Fermenting on Sunday, October 14, with Chefs Trent Shank and John Cox.
