Los Olivos’ The Bear and Star has been serving exquisite meals of “Ranch Refined Cuisine” featuring various renowned chefs for their Chef’s Table Dinners. For the ongoing Guest Chef Series, Chef John Cox and the culinary team of The Bear and Star now welcome Long Beach chef/owner of Panxa Cocina and Roe Seafood, Arthur Gonzalez. On Wednesday August 15, Chef Gonzalez will produce a six-course dinner prepared in his restaurants’ signature styles.
Gonzalez is praised for the success of his two restaurants, of which are time and time again listed as some of the best food spots Long Beach has to offer. Gonzalez is known for his fantastic seafood at Roe Seafood and his take on the modern Southwestern cuisine at Panxa Cocina. Gonzalez stricly practices sustainable sourcing to ensure the most seasonally fresh ingredients. For his guest appearance at the Chef’s Table Dinner, Gonzalez will incorporate his adored skills with the distinct flavors of Santa Barbara County, using ingredients from the Fess Parker Ranch.
Gonzalez’s dinner at The Bear and Star will include dishes of aguachile, red beans and rice, bao, 46 degree salmon, saltado and a desert to fully satisfy each attendee. The restaurant will have two seatings, one beginning at 6:30 p.m., and the next at 7:30 p.m. Dinner pricing is $89 per guest, however the restaurant highly recommends to add the wine pairing for a supplementary charge of $50 to complete the culinary experience. The Bear and Star’s Chef Table Dinners will continue on through to November, with more guest chefs to be announced in the future.
