Although summer may be nearing a close, you can still savor the sunny season with the exclusive recital, “Summer Nights” on Friday, August 10 at St. Mark’s-in-the-Valley Church in Los Olivos.
“Summer Nights” features the music of renowned composers Richard Strauss, Gerald Finzi,and Tom Cipullo as well as timeless selections from operas and musical theater. These enchanting songs will be performed by award-winning vocalists Geoffrey Hahn and Dorothy Gal and accompanied on piano by John Churchwell.
Baritone Geoffrey Hahn is a Vocal Fellow at the prestigious Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara and has performed countless leading roles in productions such as Trouble in Tahiti, Cosi fan tutte, and Carmen. Soprano Dorothy Gal has also earned several starring roles in productions such as Gianni Schicchi, Rusalka, Manon and Little Women and will soon join the Houston Grand Opera as a Studio Artist. Pianist John Churchwell is currently the Head of Music at the San Francisco Opera and has collaborated with world famous conductors including James Levine, James Conlon and Fabio Luis.
This brilliant trio will be performing on Friday, August 10 at 7 p.m. at St. Mark’s-in-the-Valley Episcopal Church (2901 Nojoqui Ave. in Los Olivos). Tickets can be purchased at the door at 6:30 p.m. or can be reserved and picked up at “Will Call” by emailing info@SMITV.org. The suggested ticket donation is $15 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets include an exclusive opportunity to meet the artists as well.
