Santa Barbara welcomes Rodriguez’s return with special guest, Vera Sola to kick off the Granada Theatre Concert Series. The performance takes place Tuesday, August 21 at 7:30 p.m at the Granada Theatre, located at 1214 State St.

Rodriguez is a well-known 70’s singer-songwriter who went from 40 years of namelessness to becoming famous in both the film and music industries. Rodriguez began his career by performing in clubs around Detroit back in the 60’s. He recorded two studio albums, Cold Fact in 1969 and Coming from Reality in 1971. His story is told in the 2012 Oscar award-winning documentary, Searching For Sugar Man, which gave him universal appreciation.

Vera Sola is a poet, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist, who has spent most of her career touring and recording with other artists. She has collaborated on film scores and provided soundtracks for theater and performance art. Early in 2017, she recorded and released her compositions, beginning with the writing, arrangement, performance, and all the parts on her debut album Shades.

The popular Granada Theatre Concert Series continues throughout the fall with performances by Boz Scaggs on September 11 and The Beach Boys on September 21.
