2nd Fridays Art @SBTC celebrates and features new artists in an exhibition every 2nd Friday of each month at the Club Gallery. This month they have a two-man exhibition featuring long-time friends, Douglas DaFoe and George Small in the Multidimensional exhibition

The two artists come together to create an exhibit filled with unique contemporary art that uses our past and present to tell stories while playing with our perceptions of space.

Working locally in Santa Barbara as a cabinet maker and general contractor for 40 years, Douglas DaFoe has incorporated his previous work in his current art. A retired Santa Barbara native, DaFoe now works with wood as a fine artist. His interest in mid-century architecture and furniture as well as his attention to detail lead to well crafted and uniquely shaped works of art. He uses light, color, shapes, dimensions, angles and proportions to create lively pieces.

George Small is a multi-media artist and now-retired founder and director of The Art Studio in Santa Monica. In his most recent work, Small combined past works of art with the contemporary by creating photo collages using an assortment of media. By unifying the past with the present, Small is able to tell a story and create unique pieces that synthesize the two and three dimensional.

An Artist Reception will be held on Friday, August 10  from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Multidimensional is on view through September 7 from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. daily. The exhibition is located at the Santa Barbara Tennis Club on 2375 Foothill Rd. Santa Barbara.
