As Santa Barbara’s warm summer nights sadly come to a close, so does Animated Nights!, a summer film series presented by UCSB Arts & Lectures and the Santa Barbara County Office of Arts & Culture.

To conclude the series, there will be free screenings of Academy Award and Golden Globe-nominated film, Loving Vincent on Wednesday, August 22, at 7:30 p.m. at UCSB Campbell Hall (Building 538, University of California, Santa Barbara, Mesa Rd.) and Friday, August 24, at 8:30 p.m. at the Santa Barbara County Courthouse Sunken Garden (1100 Anacapa St., Santa Barbara). Special guest DJ Darla Bea will perform a live set on Friday, August 24 at 7 p.m. to celebrate the end of a successful summer film series.

The first fully oil-painted film, Loving Vincent follows the mysterious life and eventual demise of troubled yet brilliant artist, Vincent Van Gogh. Van Gogh’s tumultuous tale is brought to life by talented actors Saoirse Ronan and Douglas Booth as well as the characters of his very own paintings.

Admission to both screenings is free! For Friday’s outdoor Courthouse screening, please bring blankets, low-to-the-ground beach chairs, a picnic dinner, and your friends!

For more information, please call UCSB Arts & Lectures at (805) 893-3535, or visit www.ArtsAndLectures.UCSB.edu.
