Free Movie: The Iron Giant

Grab some popcorn and relax under the stars while watching the free summer film series Animated Nights!

The UCSB Arts & Lectures and Santa Barbara County Office of Arts & Culture hosts screenings of The Iron Giant on Wednesday, August 8 at 7:30 p.m. at UCSB Campbell Hall and Friday, August 10 at 8:30 p.m. outside at the Santa Barbara County Courthouse Sunken Garden.

Considered a treasured animation, The Iron Giant follows the adventures of a gentle robot and a young boy named Hogarth Hughes.

Event Details:

Wednesday, August 8 at 7:30 p.m. at UCSB Campbell Hall.

Friday, August 10 at 8:30 p.m. at the Santa Barbara County Courthouse Sunken Garden.

Friday filmgoers can begin setting up on the Courthouse lawn at noon and should arrive early to find seating. Bring blankets, a picnic dinner, low-to-the-ground beach chairs, and friends to the outside screening.

Pre-screening activities on Friday include interacting with robots from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Sunken Garden on the Fiesta Stage, and a live set by DJ Darla Bea at 7 p.m.
