Sip Wine, Listen to Music, and Support School Gardens
On Saturday, July 21, Buttonwood Farm Winery holds its annual summer concert “Rockin’ Our Roots- Concert in the Vines.” The concert is an outdoor benefit for the environmental education and arts nonprofit, Explore Ecology. From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., two bands, Soul Majestic and Crown City Bombers, perform on the stage near the Vineyard Pond. Guests are invited to bring a picnic, purchase lunch from an onsite food truck, or order a cheese and charcuterie board from Slate Catering. All tickets include a logo GoVino glass, two generous pours of wine, and admission to the concert.
Buttonwood and Explore Ecology find common ground in their “environmental stewardship.” While Buttonwood practices clean farming techniques and promotes healthy wildlife areas, Explore Ecology educates over 30,000 students a year, teaching them to preserve nature and engage with their environment.
Nicole Carnevale, Director of Sales at Buttonwood, discovered Explore Ecology when her children excitedly told her about ‘garden day’ at school. “They love coming home and sharing what is in season, sometimes they would bring home a recipe to make. I love that! I thought, this is what we do at Buttonwood—we need to connect with Explore Ecology and help make ‘garden day’ possible for every child,” says Carnevale.
The 39-acre Buttonwood Farm Winery is located at 1500 Alamo Pintado Rd., Solvang. For more information, click here.
