Every year Pastor Eric Scott of St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Santa Maria and his team sponsor the free public event—Summer Fest on the Green—to welcome the warm summer weather. The event features numerous activities that kids will love, including but not limited to carnival games with prizes, bouncy houses, arts and crafts, and Monique’s Face Painting. They also provide a free hot-dog lunch with chips, water, and a cookie–the perfect summer meal.

There is a diverse musical line-up as well, featuring Coastal Voices, Alan Satchwell and Band of Brothers, The Central Coast Chordsmen, and St. Andrew United Methodist Church Praise Team. The event aims to connect the community to its various services and present local nonprofits. These resources include Central Coast SPCA, CALM, CASA, Community Partners in Caring, Transitions Mental Health, United Blood Services, and more.

As Pastor Eric Scott puts it, “Summer Fest on the Green has always been envisioned as a gift to the community–our way of giving back and thanking them for supporting us.” Event Chairperson Desiree Scott adds, “We provide everything absolutely free of charge and encourage our neighbors to come together and have a great time, celebrate friendship, and enjoy our beautiful surroundings.”

This year’s family-friendly event takes place on Saturday, June 16, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on the beautiful grounds of the St. Andrew United Methodist Church at 3945 S. Bradley Rd. in Santa Maria.

For more information about Summer Fest on the Green, visit their Facebook page or call Desiree Scott at 805/937-2470 (Church) or 310/218-8429 (Cell).
