David Parrish, owner of the Parrish Family Vineyard in Paso Robles, was recently named one of “Wine’s Most Inspiring People” by Wine Industry Advisor. In addition, the family-owned vineyard and winery was listed on Wine Business Monthly’s “Top 10 Hot Brands.” The Parrish Family Vineyard is being recognized for its focus on growing quality grapes and producing excellent wines while caring for the land and local community.
Parrish continues to improve his craft and share his findings with others. His enthusiasm and passion compelled Wine Industry Advisor to include him in their annual list of inspirational people. The 2018 list includes vintners, growers, wineries, and wines that are making a statement in the industry. Upon receiving the awards, Parrish says that, “It’s gratifying to be honored for what we are trying to do: grow and develop the best, most enjoyable wines possible and take care of the land in a sustainable way.” He continues, “Our team is dedicated to bringing people together over great wine and we look forward to celebrating these awards with them.”
Apart from being the owner and lead winemaker for Parrish Family Vineyard, Parrish is an innovator in the wine industry with his patented trellis designs. He is currently working on new ways to improve white shade cloth to protect grapes from the sun allowing the grapes to mature more evenly.
This summer, the Parrish Family Vineyard is moving from its Downtown Paso Robles tasting room to a new winery and tasting room located on their estate vineyards off Adelaida Road on the west side of Paso Robles.
The new location opens in August 2018 and will feature their award-winning wines, tasty food pairings, and unique educational experiences. The state-of-the-art facility is designed with hospitality in mind. Wine lovers will be able to taste both inside and outside–either at the bar or in the members’ room, or outside on the patio, around the sunken gardens or near the fountain. There is also a place to grab a bite and brush up on your golf game on a putting green. The Parrish’s new winery and tasting room offers enough for visitors to spend the entire day.
