This year, the event raised over $504,000 to benefit emergency, trauma and critical care services at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
As a special treat, this year’s Tiara Ball also honored the first responders, hospital employees and medical staff who aided those impacted by the Thomas Fire and mudslide disasters. Representatives from seven local first responder agencies attended the gala as special guests, including members from the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department, Santa Barbara City and County Fire Departments, Montecito Fire Protection District, Santa Barbara Police Department, and California Highway Patrol, as well as the American Medical Response ambulance service.
“We extend our deepest thanks to all who have supported the Tiara Ball and we honor the heroic work of first responders and caregivers,” says Ron Werft, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cottage Health and one of the speakers from the evening.
“The funds we raised will allow us to continue to provide the very best care to our patients, families and community.”
Other speakers from the night included Alexandra Nourse, chair of this year’s event, and Steven Ainsley, Chair of the Cottage Health Board of Directors.
Guests also got to view a video sharing the reflections of Cottage employees who were instrumental in taking care of patients and their families following the tragic events of the mudslide.
