Fifty has never looked better! Come share in the history, successes, and accomplishments of Downtown Santa Barbara (DSB) at the 50th Anniversary Gala on Wednesday, April 12, at the Fess Parker Doubletree Resort, 633 E. Cabrillo Blvd.

“This is a once-in-our-lifetime event,” says DSB Executive Director Maggie Campbell. “We plan to celebrate not only our accomplishments and milestones, but our history as well. And we’re very fortunate to have Mayor Helene Schneider and Roger Durling, Executive Director of the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, on board as our Honorary Co-Chairs.”

Joining Campbell onstage as co-host for the evening’s program is Marshall Rose, former DSB Executive Director and current owner of Hollister Brewing Company.

On the agenda for the event are the annual Downtown Awards, including the Harriet Miller Youth Leadership Award, 2016 Volunteer of the Year, and the 2016 Citizen of the Year. Previous recipients of the Citizen of the Year award are also contributing to the celebration through a visual compilation of their contributions. Past honorees have included civic leaders, social advocates, visionaries, members of the media and the arts community, and citizens who have made their mark in our community.

“It is an exciting year for Downtown Santa Barbara,” Campbell says. “Along with honoring our Citizens of the Year again, we’re planning to celebrate our history all year long.” 2017 is already shaping up to be one for the books!
