Sings Like Series #40 Begins This Weekend

Sings Like Hell, the biannual singer/songwriter concert series, has returned to the Lobero Theatre, 33 E. Canon Perdido St.

The current series, Series #40, features six musical performances spanning from January to June. The first, an Evening with JackShit & Friends, opens Saturday, January 21 at 8 p.m. Comprised of Pete Thomas, Davey Faragher and Val McCallum, JackShit’s rocking, hillbilly style will be an energetic winter revival.

Acclaimed musical innovator and crossover artist Alejandro Escovedo will command the stage with Jesse Malin for the second concert in Sings Like Hell on Saturday, February 25 at 8 p.m.

In March, The Mastersons + Mike Stinson will ring in the spring on Saturday, March 25 at 8 p.m. The husband and wife duo will enchant audiences with their rich vocal chemistry and collaborative musical vision.

Eric Andersen will showcase his songwriting versatility and decades-long staying power in an evening with Eric Andersen, Dan Navarro, Steve Postell and Danny Kortchmar on Saturday, April 22 at 8 p.m.

Sings Like Hell will then present Multi-Grammy winner Rodney Crowell on Sunday, May 7 at 8 p.m. His songs have been covered and performed by musicians including but not limited to: Van Morrison, Johnny Cash, Etta James and Tim McGraw.

Charlie Faye & The Fayettes will close out Series #40 with their blend of retro soul pop and unmistakable modernity on Saturday, June 24 at 8 p.m.
