The holidays are officially here! The Downtown Christmas Tree that brightens State Street every year is arriving in Downtown Santa Barbara on Tuesday, November 22.

This year’s tree is a 45′ Douglas Fir and was donated by Southern California Edison as a part of their annual reforestation process. Consumer Fire Products, Inc. is this year’s Presenting Sponsor of the Parade and the company will be delivering the tree to State Street.

“We look forward to delivering the Christmas tree to the Santa Barbara community again this year,” says Irene Rhodes, president and CEO of Consumer Fire Products, Inc. “Happy Holidays, everyone!”

The tree will arrive downtown and be decorated the morning of Tuesday, November 22 in preparation for the official lighting of the tree. The official lighting of the tree takes place on Friday, December 2 at 6:30 p.m. at the beginning of the 64th Annual Downtown Santa Barbara Holiday Parade. The theme of this year’s holiday parade is “Holiday Under the Sea” and Co-Grand Marshals Cody and Caleb Walker will preside over the parade. The duo have an organization called Reach Out Worldwide which was founded by their brother, late actor and Santa Barbara resident, Paul Walker. Reach Out Worldwide is a group of professionals with first responder skill-sets who help local professionals when natural disasters strike in order to accelerate relief efforts. Cody and Caleb Walker will be riding in Santa Barbara’s Hot Rod Limo.

Join in the Christmas spirit this holiday season and come down to State Street for the arrival of the tree and the lighting ceremony.
