This year’s Mosher Studio Artists burst into the scene as they perform at Santa Barbara and Goleta Public Libraries starting Feb. 17, all thanks to Opera Santa Barbara, a company devoted to giving the public exceptional concerts. The performers—Rachel Blaustein, Molly Clementz, Tim Petty and Lee Steiner—will sing various operatic repertoire and musical theater selections with piano accompaniment played by Kyle Naig.
These artists are unquestionably talented and accomplished. For instance, the lovely Rachel Blaustein, also a graduate student of Johns Hopkins University’s Peabody Institute, recently made her debut as Barena in Janáček’s Jenůfa with Des Moines Metro Opera last summer. Molly Clementz, a doctoral candidate from our very own UC Santa Barbara, performed in Don Giovanni.
Local performances are at Santa Barbara Central Library (40 E. Anapamu St.) on February 17 and 24, March 2, April 6, 13, and 20, and May 11; and at Goleta Public Library (500 N. Fairview Ave.) on April 25. All performances will begin at noon; admission is free.
Those who have a passion for the Opera and delight in unconventional venues cannot miss this event. For more information contact Opera Santa Barbara at 805/ 898-3890 or email@example.com or visit www.operasb.org.
