Girls Inc. InviteInspire women to be strong, smart and bold at the “Women of Inspiration” fundraiser luncheon on April 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Girls Inc. of Carpinteria office, 5315 Foothill Rd.

Girls Inc., founded in 1971, serves over 700 children in the Carpinteria Valley and Ventura County and plans so share their story with you.

The featured speaker is Saran Kaba Jones, who is the founder of FACE Africa. With FACE Africa, Jones has helped develop and organize clean water systems and sanitation and hygiene infrastructure and services in rural communities. FACE Africa is a nonprofit organization that provides access to clean and safe drinking water for communities in Liberia. With clean drinking water, economic growth is encouraged, as well as the further development of the education system.

Jones plans to share her story, seeing that she is an incredible example of a strong, smart and bold woman.

Four other local strong, smart and bold women, Michelle Apodaca from Deckers Brands, Jennifer Freed and Rendy Freeman, co-founders of AHA, and Donna Jordan, are also being honored at the event.

All proceeds benefit Girls Inc.’s mission to inspire young women to achieve personal, social, economic, and political success.  For tickets and more information, visit the website or call 805/684-6364.
