Instant Karma Improv Comedy presents the Santa Barbara premiere of Impro Theatre’s Jane Austen UnScripted, directed by Dan O’Connor and Paul Rogan. Called "the greatest improvisational theatre company in the world,” Impro dazzles audiences as the company creates an entire play in the style of the great Jane Austen right before their eyes – and all starting with a single audience suggestion.

The performances are scheduled for Friday March 27 and Saturday March 28 at the New Vic TheatreImpro Theatre has earned its renowned reputation not just with imagination and hilarity, but also with its deft and subtle art of storytelling. The performances have been hailed as literary wizardry punctuated by breathtaking wit. This is an event not to be missed! Impro Theatre’s Jane Austen UnScripted gives audiences a chance to imagine the other books she might have written. The company creates a world of love-struck girls, brooding noblemen and charming cads, and although hearts are sure to be broken, true love will win out in the end.

Impro Theatre productions are full-length plays in the style of the world’s greatest playwrights and authors – and no two performances are ever the same. Without pre-planning or prepared scenarios, the performers start with a single audience suggestion and write theatre as they perform it. With each performance, they combine verbal dexterity and dynamic physicality to create a unique theatrical experience.

Impro Theatre has received the LA Times Critics’ Choice Award, LA Weekly Pick of the Week, and additional Critic’s Picks everywhere they have performed. They have performed to enthusiastic, sold-out crowds from Amsterdam to New Zealand.

“One of the funniest evenings in town…An amazing comedy troupe spins an entire play into comedy gold right before your eyes.” – The Los Angeles Times
