Beach Bowl, located at 901 Linden Ave. in Carpinteria, opens today (April 15). The eatery serves a variety of acai berry and pittaya bowls, smoothies and cold-pressed juices. The frozen yogurt offered up at Beach Bowl is not only certified organic, but also gluten free. Non-dairy options will also be available.
Outdoor seating on Linden Avenue includes five tables and 10 chairs, while indoor seating is for 28. Beach Bowl opens at 5:30 a.m. and closes at 10 p.m. on weekdays and midnight on weekends.
Beach Bowl is the first retail venture for co-owners Alex Hamadi and Kamel Mehai. The pair has made a commitment to the environment and the beachside town’s economy by locally sourcing materials, goods and services. Architect Dylan Chappell is the local who designed the energy-efficient, modern building.
