Opportunity to Hear from World Renowned Curators on Sunday

Posted on Jan 23 by Seasons Intern

Hear the perspectives and ideas of art curators Jonathan Fineberg and Anna Lovatt first hand at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art (SBMA) Sunday, January 26.

Each curator has been inspired to create a solo exhibition that will be shown concurrently at the SBMA. Alice Aycock Drawings: Some Stories are Worth Repeating is an exhibition by Fineberg, an Art History professor at the University of Illinois and a co-curator at the Parrish Art Museum. The second exhibition, Michelle Stuart: Drawn from Nature, has been created by Lovatt, a lecturer on contemporary and modern art history at the University of Manchester.

After hearing from the curators, enjoy a rare opportunity to have a copy of the accompanied monograph to the Michelle Stuart exhibition signed by both artist Michelle Stewart and Anna Lovatt. The monograph is an overview and explanation of the traveling exhibition.

The Curator’s Perspective section will take place from 2-3:30 p.m. with the book signing immediately following until 4:30 p.m..
