Talk about some girl (business) power!
One of Santa Barbara’s own was recently presented with the 2013 Fastest Growing Company of the Year Award at the fourth annual Women Entrepreneurs Rock the World conference, hosted by Savor the Success and sponsored by Whole Foods and American Express OPEN in New York City in May. The conference honors top and up-and-coming female entrepreneurs and empowers women to build a thriving business and life.
Kristin Fraser Cotte, a former elementary school teacher, started The Grapeseed Company in 2004 as a hobby. The Grapeseed Company now creates over 80 botanical beauty products from the byproduct of wine, selling at their two locations in Santa Barbara and at spas and retailers all over the world. Award winners at the conference were selected as nominees by the public and then chosen based on merit, caliber and growth in the past year.
There is no doubt that The Grapeseed Company is well deserving. In the past year alone, it has released 16 new products, opened a second store and has been featured in major publications. In June, The Grapeseed Company also released over 30 products in Whole Foods stores in Santa Barbara, Oxnard and Thousand Oaks.
“We are incredibly honored to be recognized on this level,” says Cotte, “I am most thankful and proud of the humble but mighty team we’ve built over the past year to accomplish this type of growth!”
Congratulations to our neighbors for their award-winning success! For more information on The Grapeseed Company, visit its website here.
