What do you get when you mix conjuto tunes, classic folk sounds from the border and famous accordion-based polka music? Los Texmaniacs, of course! As part of  ¡Viva el Arte de Santa Bárbara!, this Grammy-winning band is bringing the spice to Santa Barbara for three free concerts sure to get your feet tapping.

¡Viva el Arte de Santa Bárbara! is a nonprofit that connects the Latino community with Latin American music and educational programs. They frequently hold concerts around Santa Barbara in neighborhood venues and offer workshops for kids and adults.

Los Texmaniacs will perform at Isla Vista School on April 5 at 7 p.m.; at Guadalupe City Hall on April 6 at 7:30 p.m. and at Santa Barbara Jr. High Marjorie Luke Theatre on April 7 at 7 p.m.

If you’re looking for more involvement, Los Texmaniacs are also offering two free conjunto music and dance workshops at La Cumbre Jr. High on April 4, 7–8:30 p.m. and at Guadalupe Culture Arts & Education Center on April 6, 12–1:30 p.m. These workshops offer everyone a chance to learn dance steps and play instruments such as the bajo sexto, drums, guitar and accordion—guests are encouraged to bring their own!

Check out Los Texmaniacs’ zesty sound before the concerts! For more info on concerts and workshops, visit ¡Viva!’s Facebook page.
