If you love contemporary art, you won’t want to miss this!
From October 26 to December 1, the Arts Fund will present a free showing by Funk Zone artists entitled The Zone 2-D. The Arts Fund, first established as a non-profit in 1983, has a mission to create, fund and administer programs that foster the arts for the people of Santa Barbara. This event is no exception!
Artists Michael Irwin, Johnny Troyna, Chris Kirkegaard, Lindsey Ross and Erika Carter come together from the Funk Zone, the eclectic neighborhood off of lower State Street. Each one possesses a diverse set of talents, from photography and carving to music and folk art. Hailing from different backgrounds, they combine their skills to create an incredible exhibition of paintings, photographs and video that will make you want to see more!
It will begin with a public reception for the artists on Friday, October 26, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in The Arts Fund Gallery, located at 205C Santa Barbara Street.
I encourage you to come and get a taste of this beautiful, funky Santa Barbara culture!
