On Saturday, September 15, over 1,500 members of the Santa Barbara community from organizations ranging from schools and churches to workplaces, community service groups and even families came out with United Way of Santa Barbara to complete various projects at Day of Caring, all in an effort to beautify and help our community.
Volunteers helped local non-profits with an array of projects, including landscape work, planting, painting, habitat restoration and office work in various areas throughout Carpinteria, Santa Barbara, Goleta and Santa Ynez. What’s amazing is that the work completed by these volunteers in just four hours is equal to more than $275,000 worth of Santa Barbara County improvements!
We want to thank all of the wonderful volunteers who took the time out of their weekend to work towards a cleaner, brighter community. Here’s to hoping that next year’s Day of Caring is as successful as this year’s!
