Expansion of Children’s Chorus Means More Opportunities for Song

Posted on Sep 10 by SEASONS Magazine

Starting September 10 and occuring weekly through June 2013, Santa Barbara Children’s Chorus will expand its acclaimed programs to incorporate more weekly lessons for specific age groups, a new Carpinteria program and more options for dues.

With the new season of the Children’s Chorus comes a program called Vocal Explorations, which will cater to children ages 6-7, helping them grow their voices and discover the fun to be had in the Children’s Chorus. Also new to the program is the Carpinteria Children’s Chorus, for young ones to the south of Santa Barbara.

Santa Barbara Children’s Chorus (SBCC) is not only a great place to start children in their singing careers, but it’s also a community of kids who love what they do. With newer programs catering to younger age groups, children can join a lasting family that will help them learn the discipline of the vocal arts. Last seasons, members of SBCC collaborated with Santa Barbara favorites such as Opera Santa Barbara at several local a cappella groups. Such an arts education is something that is unfortunately disappearing from schools, making institutions like SBCC that much more important.
