Santa Barbara’s professional surfer Lakey Peterson has joined Hands 4 Others (H4O) in attempt to bring clean water to six villages in Rote, Indonesia. Lakey’s fundraiser, “Surf 4 Water” encourages kids to raise any amount of money for the project. After her visit to Rote, Indonesia years before, she was inspired to help bring clean water to the villagers. Now, teamed with H4O, this dream can come true!
Each person to raise $100 or more receives a Lakey autographed H4O shirt. The first ten kids to sign up and raise $1,000 get to spend a day surfing with Lakey. “This is an opportunity of a lifetime – it includes a three-hour surf experience, photo opportunities with Lakey, along with lunch and autographed shirts and hats,” explains Spencer Dusebout, one of the founders of H4O. Hands 4 Others is an organization started by three Santa Barbara teenagers. It is a movement of young people (who together with our families) have been called to change the world one person, one family, one village at a time by providing sustainable access to safe, drinkable water for those in need.
The person to raise the most money wins an all-expense paid trip to Rote, Indonesia, with Lakey and H4O. The trip, where Lakey will be filming a documentary about her life, includes a meet and greet with Lakey, photo opportunities, an autographed surfboard and the chance to visit the villages who will be helped with clean water.
