CALM’s 26th Annual Authors’ Luncheon

One of Santa Barbara’s most cherished literary events is just around the corner. CALM’s 26th Annual Celebrity Authors’ Luncheon, presented by the CALM Auxiliary, will take place on Saturday, March 10, at 10 a.m. at Fess Parker’s Double Tree Resort. Interviewed authors include: Meredith Baxter, Jenna McCarthy, Greg Meng, and Simon Tolkein. Andrew Firestone will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the event. The authors will be interviewed by Debby Davison and Tom Weitzel. Book signing and purchases will begin at 10 a.m. following a lunch at 11:45 a.m. Author interviews will then begin at 12:45 p.m. 


Meredith Baxter

Meredith Baxter is a beloved and iconic television actress, most well known for her popular role as Elyse Keaton on Family Ties. Her book, Untied, is the eye-opening and inspiring life of an actress, a woman, and a mother who has come into her own.


Jenna McCarthy

Jenna McCarthy is an internationally published writer, former radio personality, and the author of five books including the recently-released, If It Was Easy They’d Call the Whole Damn Thing a Honeymoon: Living with and Loving the TV-Addicted, Sex-Obsessed, No-so-handy Man You Married.


Greg Meng

Greg Meng is the Sr. Vice President of Corday Productions, Inc., and Emmy Award winning Co-Executive Producer for Days of Our Lives. His book, Days of Our Lives 45 Years: A Celebration in Photos, uses over 500 photographs to give us a rare, behind-the-scenes glimpse of one of America’s most beloved television shows.


Simon Tolkien

Simon Tolkein, grandson of J.R.R. Tolkein, author of The Lord of the Rings, grew up in a small village near Oxford. His third suspense novel, The King of Diamonds, draws heavily from his experiences as a trial lawyer and his abiding interest in modern Europe history and the legal and social politics of 20th century British Society.

In addition to these interviewed authors, many other authors will also attend the event and be available for book signing. All ticket proceeds and a percentage of book sales will benefit CALM, the only nonprofit in Santa Barbara County focused solely on preventing, assessing, and treating child abuse and family violence.
