Learn how to create exquisite hand-crafted baskets using natural materials by professional artist Elizabeth Bear. The one day workshop will be held on Saturday, November 12, from 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, one of the nation’s oldest botanic gardens focused exclusively on native plants.
The exclusive workshop which is limited to just 10 people so Ms. Bear can provide individual attention to each participant. She will teach you the basic techniques of designing pine-needle baskets using local pine needles and raffia. Ms. Bear is a respected textile artist who opened Dream Weaver Fiber Company after taking a course in 1972. The inspiration of Native American pottery has influenced her designs for her baskets which have been in many galleries and stores.
