NO FUN New Art by Brad Nack
June 14 @ 6:00 pm - 11:30 pm
An event every day that begins at 6:00pm, repeating until June 30, 2018
California artist Brad Nack is known for his whimsical depictions of animals and other fun art. The truth is actually more nuanced. It turns out, Nack’s fun loving animal portraits are often a reaction to a crazy world dominated by us humans. NO FUN is his attempt is to leave aside the whimsy. While creating this body of work Nack has not sought escapism through his well known lighthearted subject matter. For this upcoming exhibit titled NO FUN, Nack is attempting to let the art take a different direction. It may seem simple to leave the “fun” out, but that is also the challenge; it is one thing to delete comfortable and successful constructs, the question is what takes their place? Come to the opening at Roy on June 1, to find out.
This exhibit features a completely new body of work that was created during the last 12 months, and until the opening, never seen by human eyes.
NO FUN will be on display from June 1 – June 30. Tuesday – Sunday 6pm – midnight.
The public is invited to the opening reception on June 1. Free, all ages.
For a good time come to NO FUN!
