Taste of the Nation is a gorgeous event! Bringing chefs and local wineries together to help feed our hungry children.
Nearly one in five kids is at risk of hunger in America, that’s more than 16 million children not knowing when they will get their next meal. Children who struggle with this invisible disease are sick more often, recover more slowly and are more likely to be hospitalized. Undernourished children experience more headaches, stomachaches, colds, ear infections and fatigue. Lack of enough nutritious food impairs a child’s ability to concentrate and perform well in school and they have more behavioral, emotional and academic problems; they fall behind in virtually every way. Talent, beauty and capabilities are lost when children are hungry.
The good news is that food does exist and Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign is working to get that food to the children… but they need your help! To reach kids where they live, learn and play takes coordinated effort, which in turn needs funds and man power to accomplish.
