Nationwide, the Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project works to keep public beaches “barefoot friendly,” hosting beach cleanups. On Saturday, August 25 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Leadbetter Beach gets a public makeover from this organization, born from a longstanding partnership between Barefoot Wine and the Surfrider Foundation.
Surfrider Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to protecting the world’s oceans and beaches, hoping to make them enjoyable for years to come. They host beach, lake and river cleanups all over the nation. In 2012, the sixth year of Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project, twenty-five cities will undergo a community beach cleanup.
Following two hours of friendly cleaning, of-age participants are invited to indulge in Barefoot Wine and surf-inspired fare at Endless Summer Café from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Two hours of community cleanup and two hours of food and wine? Sounds like a perfect trade.
Join your community and help protect one of Santa Barbara’s iconic beaches at this beach cleanup, and toast the future generations who can enjoy Leadbetter “barefoot” thanks to your efforts. To RSVP, please go here.
