Grandeza Mexicana, an exhilarating dance group with swirling skirts and leaping legs, returns to Santa Barbara for a weekend of performances and free dance classes. Showcasing beautiful and vibrant dances from all over Mexico (Durango, Zacatecas, Guerrero, Michoacan, South Veracruz and Jalisco), Grandeza Mexicana is a folklorico ballet company committed to sharing the amazing art of Mexican folk dance to people of all ages.

Grandeza’s elegant dancing and kaleidoscopic costumes have mesmerized audiences across the country, and they have been chosen to help conclude the seventh season of ¡Viva el Arte de Santa Bárbara!, an organization that works to preserve culture and help students and families realize that these traditions are accessible to them.
Grandeza Mexicana will hold three performances and two community dance classes over the weekend, where the dancers will be available to answer any questions, take photos and teach a few dance steps. Don’t miss out on this cultural opportunity to dance with this famed folklorico group and learn a little about the heritage and history behind this magnificent type of dance.
Performances will occur April 20-22, and dance workshops will be held on April 21 and 22. For full list of dates and times, click here.
