Design Meets Philanthropy with Santa Barbara Design House and Gardens

Posted on Sep 10 by SEASONS Magazine

You’re sure to feel the presence of design greatness when walking into the Hamptons style Montecito home on display in this year’s Santa Barbara Design House and Gardens showcase, and the presence of charity as well. Santa Barbara’s Junior League partnered with Joanie and Dennis Franz for this year’s event, open to the public from September 13 through October 7.

Each room of the 6,000 square foot, Peter Becker-designed estate will be tranformed and inspired by a different designer, including the work of Ryan Brown, Linda Chase, Jaime Dietenhofer, LuLu DK and Carla Lane, Mary McDonald, David Phoenix, Ann Sutherland, Katerina Tana, Caroline and Steve Thompson, Mark Weaver, Steven Weinstock and Michelle Workman. With the differing styles and unique interpretations of each of these designers, the 6-bedroom, 6.5 bathroom home will marvel all visitors, and for a good cause at that.

Through admission to this design showcase, the Junior League will raise awareness and funds to support their organization’s programming, training and efforts, all going towards the improvement of youth literacy of Santa Barbara. Design showcases are a Junior League favorite throughout the U.S., but this event marks the first collaboration for the Junior League of Santa Barbara.

Along with the different ideas of these distinguished designers, the estate boasts a private tree-lined drive, pavilion, an outdoor gourmet kitchen, outdoor wood-burning fireplace, loggia, swimming pool, authentic bocce ball court, detached two-car garage and an exquisite two-bedroom cabana. Local boutiques will offer shopping throughout the garden, while local gourmet food trucks cook up delicious snacks and treats.

Take the time out of your day to tour this amazing Montecito home, while raising awareness and funds for a great community organization. Tickets can be purchased here, and we hope to see you there!
