As of September 4, the Chumash Casino Resort Hotel is undergoing an extensive renovation of all its 106 guest rooms and luxury suites. Now eight years old, the resort hotel is seeing its first makeover since opening its doors in 2004.
Expected in the new design, scheduled to reopen on December 20, 2012, are new fixtures, carpet, drapes, and furnishings. High-tech upgrades will also be included, with rooms boasting 40-inch, high-definition televisions and a digital plug-in panel for use with many devices.
Much of the redesign is focused on the inclusion of both literal and abstract elements of the Chumash tribe’s history and culture, making the casino more tradition-centric. As Stacy Szuhy, an associate of the design firm SFA Design, says, “By transforming the interiors, we will offer guests a more contemporary setting while holding onto truly authentic elements.”
Until December 20, the hotel and spa will be closed to the public. Keep an ear out for pictures and information on the redesign to come in December, and be sure to book a stay at the Chumash Casino Resort Hotel or spa to experience the new remodel firsthand.
