On the third wednesday of every month, the little Danish village of Solvang hosts Third Wednesday–a day full of discounts and sales at over 60 of the town’s restaurants, wine-tasting rooms, and professional offices. And on June 20, the day will be even more special. In addition to marking the three-year anniversary of the institution of Solvang Third Wednesday, it is Midsummer’s Eve. The celebratory theme will be “Midsommer Musik,” and everyone is welcome to enjoy twelve hours of free music in the park, plus the monthly Farmers’ Market, Wine & Beer Walk and Scavenger Hunt.
The live music will culminate in a fire ring ceremony at midnight, reminiscent of the bonfire and singing of “midsommervise” that is customary every Midsummer’s Eve in Denmark.
So bring a blanket, grab some food and enjoy the celebration. For more information and a schedule of the day’s musical performances, visit www.solvangthirdwednesday.com.
