Malene Wines begins June with two new rosé wines and a fun way of tasting them. The “Malene Scene”Airstream Overlander trailer, a 1969 trailer customized specifically for the Malene rosé brand, invites the public to step inside and taste the two new releases. With a roomy interior, the Airstream includes a tasting bar and enough seating for several guests.
The trailer is open for tastings Fridays-Sundays from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. and is parked next to Chamisal Vineyards, Malene Wines’sister winery, at 7767 Orcutt Rd. in San Luis Obispo.
Although stationed there, the trailer is available to “hit the road”and go anywhere from beaches to music festivals in order to ensure its guests are served Malene rosé on tap. The two new rosé wines are a Bandol-style Rosé of Mourvédre and an Old Vine Rosé of Grenache, but are also accompanied by Malene’s recently released 2017 flagship cuvée.
“Rosé has grown up and it’s a joy to work on a brand like Malene Wines that is solely devoted to crafting rosé,” says winemaker Fintan du Fresne.
