A new, hand-crafted artisan gelato company, Valley Craft Gelato, has launched in the Santa Ynez Valley.
Valley Craft Gelato is the creation of Alessio Carnevale, a passionate and creative chef hailing from Calabria, Italy. Carnevale has experience at upscale Italian restaurants such as S.Y. Kitchen, where he worked alongside executive chef Luca Crestanelli since the restaurant’s opening in 2013.
Carnevale first learned to make gelato as a child working at his uncle’s shop in Calabria and began experimenting in crafting his own gelato shortly after being hired at S.Y. Kitchen. Over the last few years, Carnevale has supplied the restaurant with gelato for desserts and cocktails while managing to build his own private customer base.
Valley Craft Gelato offers special order gelato service for catering and events, custom wholesale orders for retail and restaurant locations and direct-to-consumer requests.
