The Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation (TBCF) is holding a California Clam Bake on Thursday, April 26 at Stearns Wharf in Santa Barbara.
The event begins with wine and hors d’oeuvres at the Santa Barbara Natural History Museum Sea Center (211 Stearns Wharf) from 6-7 p.m., followed by a silent auction, raffle, and live music by the local band Travelling Hurtados. The silent auction has an array of prizes, including an exquisite Daniel Gibbings ring, VIP tickets to the Santa Barbara Bowl to see Katy Perry, premium tickets to an LA Lakers game and much more. Next, the event moves to The Harbor Restaurant (210 Stearns Wharf) with a delicious seafood dinner from 7-9 p.m. benefiting the Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation.
According to TBCF executive director, Lindsey Leonard, “Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation is the only local organization to provide financial, educational and emotional support to families living in Santa Barbara, Ventura and San Luis Obispo counties that have a child with cancer.” Last year, the foundation served a record-breaking 839 individuals and granted $238,477 to 78 families.
The TBCF’s California Clam Bake is led by led by co-chairs Sheela Hunt and Maria Wilson, along with their hard-working committee Carolyn Shepard Baham, Melanie Cava, Nina Johnson, Leslie Von Wiesenberger, and Tara Zanecki.
