Claudia H. McGarry presents her play, Modotti and Weston, this Saturday, March 10 at Alhecama Theater.

Set in Los Angeles and Mexico, Modotti and Weston tells the tale of Tina Modotti’s life as a muse, artist, rebel and humanitarian. The play takes place in the early 1900s and is based on real events in history concerning the polarizing divide between the democratic and communist parties. This one-act, one-hour-long play reading mixes art, politics and passion.

The reading was adapted by a screenplay by Claudia H. McGarry, who also serves as director and producer of Modotti and Weston. The play features performers Shari Howard, Erika Leachman, Peter Rojas, Philip Moreno, Ken Weiler, Isaiah Canada, Kathleen Russell Hardin and Rene Correa.
