Brown has a longstanding history with music. Growing up on a farm in rural Arkansas exposed him to several genres at a young age, ranging from gospel to bluegrass to the classic country his grandfather would play in the evenings.
Kirby began his own musical career shortly after the death of his girlfriend and best friend, using songwriting as an outlet for his pain. Since his first album, Child of Calamity, Brown has toured all across America, headlining shows, playing alongside friends, and sharing festivals with such artists as Willie Nelson, The Flaming Lips, Leon Russell, and The Avett Brothers.
Brown’s upcoming release, Uncommon Prayer, reflects growing up and adjusting to the tides of change, searching for light in dark places, regret, hope, love, and redemption in the mundane repetition of everyday life.
