The 12th annual community reading to remember the life and work of William Stafford takes place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 27. Come listen to one of the featured readers or read a Stafford poem aloud yourself during this designated time of refreshment and recovery.
Keeping with tradition, gather in the First Crossing Day Use Area on Paradise Rd. in Los Padres National Forest, at the picnic area closest to the Stafford interpretive display. (Note that there is no exact address for the day use area, however, it is almost directly across the road from the Los Prietos Boys Camp at 3900 Paradise Rd.) In the case of rain, meet instead at the Los Prietos Ranger Station located at 3505 Paradise Rd.
Due to a change in management, the day use area now requires parking passes. A group of passes have been purchased at a discounted rate and are ready to be distributed to you upon arrival.
