UCSB graduate and part time Santa Barbara resident, Aliza McCracken has recently released her newest book Peaceful Moments: Creative Affirmations for Your Heart & Soul. The book is a personal collection of McCracken’s art and affirmations that allows readers to center and inspire themselves through visual stimuli.
“For the past 30 years, I have devoted myself to enriching the quality of lives through art and inspiration. I am passionate about inspiring a life of meaning and grace,” notes McCracken.
Art is of the utmost importance to McCracken. She graduated from the UCSB with a degree in Fine Art and a certificate in Visual Communications. McCracken has been infatuated with art and self-expression since the young age of four. She began painting as a toddler and was a professional artist by age 15. Now, she centers her art around the central theme of empowering others.
“The universal messages of love, hope, and faith have remained consistent throughout my artwork,” notes McCracken. “Although my subjects vary, I tend to be drawn towards images of angels, doves, butterflies, hearts, flowers, landscapes or cityscapes and abstract imagery. ”
McCracken creates such visceral art through the process of self-love. Her intuition and introspection guide her work.
“I allow myself to be open and receptive to the creative process. Most of the time, I work intuitively from a foundation of trust and knowledge,” explains McCracken.
She is the author of six previous award-winning books including The Dance of Love, Spirit of Joy, Pure Grace, Celebrating a Beautiful Life, A Season of Miracles and Creative Abundance. She is also the recipient of many awards including the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award, Artdex International Award, Arts Council Award, SOHO International Award, Art Addiction International Award, United States Congressional Award, Living Legends Award, International Woman of the Year Award and Who’s Who in the 21st Century Award.
