The CAMA Masterseries presents is back with another amazing addition. The Juilliard String Quartet will perform on Saturday, November 11 at 8 p.m. at the Lobero Theatre (33 E. Canon Perdido St.). The Quartet features Joseph Lin and Ronald Copes playing the violin, Roger Tapping playing Viola and Astrid Schween playing the cello.
The Juilliard String Quartet is known across the glove for its performances and recordings as the quintessential American string quartet. In 2011, the Grammy Award-winning Quartet became the first classical music ensemble to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. Now they are bringing their amazing sound to Santa Barbara with some familiar faces. Celebrated Violinist Ronald Copes is a local favorite and former music faculty member at UC Santa Barbara, he has been part of the quartet since 1997.
The Juilliard String Quartet will also host a Master Class, through CAMA and the UCSB Department of Music, on Friday, November 10 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Karl Geiringer Hall at UCSB. This will feature the Julliard String Quartet playing alongside students from the UCSB Department of Music. This event is open to the public.
