Terravant Wine Company, the largest wine production facility in Santa Barbara County, commences its tenth harvest with the annual “Blessing of the Grapes” event on Thursday, Aug. 31. The celebration, held outside of Terravant Winery (35 Industrial Way, Buellton), attracts influential members of the local winemaking community.

The event begins with prayers led by local clergy of various denominations. Local clerical officials offering blessings at this year’s event include Reverend Randall Day of St. Mark’s in-the-Valley in Los Olivos, Rabbi Jayne Simon of San Luis Obispo and Father Chuck Stacy of Solvang. Rabbi Simon and Father Stacy have participated in the event every year since its start in 2008.

“Harvest is an exciting time of year around the [Santa Ynez] Valley and we’re happy to celebrate it with our dedicated employees, our amazing partners and clients, and with the surrounding community,” says Terravant’s President, Lew Eisaguirre. “Ten years is a big milestone. Terravant’s longevity is directly attributable to the hard work of our team and the loyalty of our clients. We are very proud of our safety record and the well being of our team over the years.”

The celebration continues with a champagne toast, followed by wine and beer tasting and local cuisine. The evening culminates with an open-to-the-public harvest anniversary party. The party kicks off at BOTTLEST Winery, Bar & Bistro, Terravant’s onsite restaurant, nightlife and entertainment venue. This includes live music by soul, rock, Latin and blues artist, Ricky Montijo, and an Industry Appreciation Night featuring food and drink specials. There is a wine industry friends and family discount of 30% off for food and beverages all night, plus 50% off all Bottlest branded wines!
