If you are eager to help out the community, we have just the event for you! Habitat for Humanity of Southern Santa Barbara County will be hosting their first annual Playhouse Build-a-Thon at St. Joseph’s Church (1532 Linden Ave, Carpinteria) on Saturday, August 5.
Habitat for Humanity needs your help to host a fun and successful event! The Playhouse Build-a-Thon is a fundraiser designed to provide a fun and rewarding team service opportunity for families, youth groups and other organizations who have a desire to give back to the community. This is a great event meant for people of all ages!
Groups of 7 to 10 people can sign up to build a playhouse, and each group will have an experienced crew leader run the building process. The playhouse is pre-cut and teams can build, decorate and paint the house together. Each playhouse built is donated to a local nonprofit organization or family in need. Help Habitat for Humanity reach their goal of completing ten playhouses!
To help ensure this fundraiser runs smoothly there are two volunteer shifts available. The first shift runs from 7 a.m. to noon and involves event set up and management. Afterward, from noon to 3 p.m. there are shifts for event clean up and management.
