It is time to break out the golf clubs because the Area 5.1 Golf Classic is back! This tournament is a Four Person Scramble and golfers from all over come together to support a good cause at the scenic Glen Annie Golf Club . This year’s Golf Classic is Friday, August 25 at noon, and both singles and doubles are welcome and can be paired up for the event.
The All Golfer Best Chip Down to 1-8 is back by popular demand and starts off the tournament. Martin Brown, owner of Area 5.1 Winery, says that this is event is so unique and fun because it is a great opportunity for golfers of all skill levels to get together and play for a worthy cause. There are many loyal attendees that have been coming to the Golf Classic for the past 15 years, and for good reason. Tickets include a golf cart, competitions, on course food and beverages, as well as a full BBQ dinner with wine and prizes. If you are not a golfer that is not a problem! Tickets to attend the dinner are available for purchase as well.
Each year the Golf Classic partners with a nonprofit or charity organization, and to date the Golf Classic has raised over $100,000 for local charities including Heal the Ocean, the Dream Foundation, and the Cancer Center of Santa Barbara. This year they are donating proceeds to local environmental education and arts nonprofit, Explore Ecology.
Explore Ecology works with over 30,000 children each year. This nonprofit focuses on inspiring children to engage with the natural world, think critically and experience the value of environmental stewardship. Explore Ecology’s programs include Art From Scrap, the Watershed Resource Center, Environmental Education and School Gardens. They work to foster creativity and connections between people and the environment, and they are committed to educating and empowering the next generation of environmental stewards.
Tickets are available online here, or through Area 5.1 Winery at 805/770-7251 or info@A51wine.com.
