Kassie Goodman created this lively artisan collective “to stay true to the spirit of the Funk Zone in Santa Barbara, which at its roots is an artistic community. Meadow Rose Photo Art carries a variety of beautifully crafted photos on wood. A self-described country girl at heart, Rose desired a more creative way to showcase her photos. Calling the process of creating her art a “trade secret,” she explains, “It’s a print process—a technique that allows the wood grain and knots to show through the images (digital photographs) to enhance the style and composition.” Customers and tourists alike particularly enjoy the local shots, which perfectly embody the beachy lifestyle.
Jules by the Sea, Santa Barbara also attributes the beach as inspiration for its pieces, which range from simple rings to 14k gold necklaces. I will then just start creating and make three to ten pieces of something I like and that fits into the assortment,” she says. The Guilded Table is the ideal layout for her small business, allowing her to have jewelry workshops, which she plans to hold once a month.
